Auswirkungen der EU-Osterweiterung auf den österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt

Abstract

Der vorliegende Artikel faßt eine Studie des WIFO im Auftrag der Bundesarbeitskammer zusammen, die das Potential an Zuwanderern und Pendlern aus Ost-Mitteleuropa schätzt und seine Auswirkungen auf den österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt diskutiert. Die wichtigste Schlußfolgerung der Studie ist, daß längere Übergangsfristen für die Gewährung der Freizügigkeit sinnvoll und wünschenswert sind, um den Zustrom in Grenzen zu halten bzw. auf einen Zeitpunkt zu verschieben, zu dem die Zuwanderung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt aus demographischen Gründen leichter zu bewältigen ist.
