Abstract

Zusammenfassung Impact Faktoren von Journalen haben einen nachhaltigen Einfluss auf die Karrierechancen ihrer Autoren. Dies zeigt sich vor allem bei Berufungsverfahren. An den wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultäten besitzt die Handelsblatt-Liste eine herausragende Stellung. Der Artikel stellt die Konstruktion des Handelsblatt-Rankings dar und diskutiert ihre Effekte auf die Karrierechancen von Statistikern an Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultäten. Auch der Effekt auf die Einreichung bei Zeitschriften wird diskutiert. Schließlich werden Alternativen dargestellt, etwa personenbezogene Impact Faktoren, eigene Zeitschriften Rankings sowie Evaluationsverfahren über Experten.
