Les institutions dans la théorie de la régulation : une actualisation

Abstract

Deux étapes ont scandé l’avancée du programme de recherche régulationniste. La première consacre l’affichage « institutionnaliste » de ce programme, en plaçant au centre de l’analyse les formes institutionnelles conçues comme la codification d’un ou plusieurs des rapports sociaux qui sont constitutifs du capitalisme. La seconde précise cette définition. L’institutionnel est analysé comme une médiation entre la structure et les comportements individuels, ce qui revient à traiter de l’articulation entre l’action collective instituante et l’action individuelle. L’objet de cet article est de faire le point sur cette seconde étape à propos de la caractérisation de la structure socio-économique en question et du contenu exact à donner au terme de médiation. Cette actualisation fait ressortir que le socle commun de propositions relatives à ces deux domaines délimite un institutionnalisme qui a sa propre identité au regard des autres institutionnalismes qui ont vu le jour en économie au cours des trente dernières années.
