Abstract

In a special 1975 issue of L'Actualité économique, Tadek Matuszewski stated some of the key ideas underlying his work. Those ideas have had much influence on economic modeling in Québec and in Canada, both in projects directed by Matuszewski himself, and in those of his associates and former students. In the light of recent developments, his vision remains as relevant as it was. Some of his ideas have been implemented in applied general equilibrium models, which can be considered as direct descendants of input-output models. And finally, it is remarkable that Matuszewski's ideas have survived the computer revolution, which has opened such unforeseen possibilities for model-builders.
