Abstract

[eng] The Efficiency Wage and the Job-Seeking Theory: Job-to-Job Mobility . Professional mobility phenomena could explain persistent unemployment rates. Two of the theories that look at these phenomena from complementary angles are the efficiency wage theory and the job-seeking theory. . The article starts by presenting the main theoretical models. Then the search for a job by people in work is estimated using a sample whereby the wage received is an explanatory variable. The probability of looking for another job emerges as a decreasing function of the wage received. The wage also interacts with other explanatory variables such as qualifications, sex, marital status and the type of employment contract.
