Abstract

Napjaink közgazdasági irodalmának a globalizáció egyik leggyakrabban tárgyalt fogalma. A Magyar Tudományos Akadémián tartott előadásában a szerző bemutatta, hogy a globalizáció jóval régebbi jelenség, mint gondolnánk. I. Ferenc József osztrák császárnak például már a 19. század közepén ugyanúgy el kellett fogadnia a külföldi tőketulajdonosok utasításait, mint napjaink hitelfelvevőinek. A globalizáció földrészünkön elsősorban ,,európaizáció" formájában jelentkezik. Éppen ezért kulcsfontosságú a kontinens csaknem valamennyi elsősorban persze a csatlakozás előtt álló országának az Európai Unióhoz való helyes viszony kialakítása, az EU jogszabályainak, működési mechanizmusainak a lehető legalaposabb ismerete. A globalizáció körülményei közepette alaposan átalakult az állam szerepe is. A korábbi adószedő és szabályozó-korlátozó állam napjainkban sajátos feladatot vállalhat át gazdasági szereplőként a piac többi résztvevőjétől: nagyobb kockázatviselő képessége révén előnyösebb feltételekkel vehet föl külföldi hiteleket.
