Írország Európai Uniós csatlakozásának tanulságai
[The lessons of Ireland's accession to the European Union]

Abstract

Írország a kilencvenes évtizedben rendkívüli sikereket ért el, lényegesen emelkedett az életszínvonal, javult a lakosság egészségi állapota, iskolázottsága, és az összes jóléti mutató jelentősen emelkedett. Ez azonban az európai integrációban való bekapcsolódása után csak majdnem két évtizeddel később következett be. Ezért különös figyelmet érdemel, hogy az egységesülő Európában való részvétel milyen feltételek mellett jár ilyen kedvező hatásokkal, illetve hogy milyen gazdaságpolitikával képes egy szegény, perifériára szorult kis ország kihasználni az integráció előnyeit. Az ír gazdasági fejlődés pozitív és negatív tapasztalataiból egyaránt megkíséreljük levonni azokat a tanulságokat, amelyek a magyar és a többi kelet-közép-európai ország felkészülése számára hasznosak lehetnek.
