Abstract

"Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre sind die qualifikationsbedingten Lohnunterschiede in Deutschland deutlich gewachsen, da sich die Nachfrage nach Arbeitskräften massiv zugunsten der höher Qualifizierten verschoben hat. Während Geringqualifizierte heute real deutlich weniger verdienen als noch 1990, haben insbesondere Akademiker und Beschäftigte mit Abitur im selben Zeitraum deutliche Reallohnzuwächse erzielt. Dabei hat sich die Schere zwischen niedrigen und mittleren Löhnen in etwa gleich schnell geöffnet wie die zwischen mittleren und höheren Verdiensten." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
