Abstract

Objetivo: Estimar la disposición a pagar (DAP) para tres tipos de sotol: blanco, reposado y añejo, así como encontrar las variables socioeconómicas que más influyen en dicha disposición a pagar, con la hipótesis de que existe una disposición a pagar positiva. Método: Se aplicaron 120 encuestas en la ciudad de Durango, para lo cual se empleó el método de valoración contingente y modelo logit binomial, utilizando el software Nlogit. Resultados: La DAP estimada fue, para el caso de sotol blanco de $366.76, para reposado de $573.39 y para añejo de $723.56, lo que significa un sobreprecio del 22%, 27% y 20%, respectivamente. Las variables que explican la DAP son dependientes económicos, ingreso, consumo, ocupación y precio. Limitaciones: El tamaño de la muestra es pequeño, además no existe un intercambio real de dinero, por lo que lo que los entrevistados dicen estar dispuestos a pagar en una encuesta no siempre coincide con lo que realmente paga en un punto de venta real. Principales hallazgos: Los encuestados están dispuestos a pagar un sobreprecio. Por lo que se puede concluir que resulta económicamente viable la producción y distribución de los tres tipos de sotol analizados.
