Movilidad social e intensidad de cuidados en Nuevo León

Abstract

Considerando los cuidados en el hogar como una dimensión de movilidad social, el objetivo de la investigación es medir la movilidad en la intensidad de cuidados, utilizando un índice de intensidad de cuidados. Los datos provienen de la Encuesta ESRU-EMOVI Nuevo León 2021. La movilidad intergeneracional, relativa y vertical de la intensidad de cuidados se analiza mediante matrices de probabilidades de transición. Se encontró que existe movilidad ascendente cuando las mujeres tienen más educación, trabajan y pertenecen al grupo de mayores recursos económicos. Hay mayor persistencia en niveles de alta intensidad de cuidados en mujeres de bajos niveles educativos, sin trabajo y en pobreza. Esto implica un círculo vicioso que precariza la condición de las mujeres con una alta intensidad de tareas de cuidados y en condiciones de vulnerabilidad. La tarea pendiente es seguir trabajando en un Sistema Nacional de Cuidados con políticas que ayuden a modificar la organización social del cuidado.
