Abstract

This paper uses data from 31 provincial-level regions in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) from 2009 to 2023 as the research sample to examine the impact of AI-driven development on the advancement of new productivity drivers, and to explore the enabling pathways of finance. The study finds the following: First, there is a significant positive correlation between AI-driven development and the advancement of new productivity drivers. Second, the positive effect of AI-driven development on new productivity is more pronounced in regions with high levels of informatization and high fixed asset investment. Third, AI-driven development effectively promotes the advancement of new productivity drivers by fostering the development of digital finance and enhancing the level of financial support.
