The belt and road initiative, outward foreign direct investment, and technological innovation

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative on enterprise technological innovation. The finding reveal that outward foreign direct investment mediates the relationship between the two, and the former significantly contributes to the latter, especially in areas with a high density of state-owned enterprises .
