Resilience and reinforcement strategy of smart interdependent distribution-communication-transportation networks

Abstract

Frequent and destructive natural disasters pose severe challenges to the normal operation of the distribution network (DN). There is an urgent need to develop an efficient post-disaster reinforcement strategy to enhance DN resilience. Traditional reinforcement strategies, focusing on a single system and relying primarily on mathematical programming, exhibit limited operational efficiency and dynamic adaptability. To overcome these drawbacks, the deep integration of the distribution network-communication network-transportation network system (DCTS) driven by resilient cities provides a new perspective for reinforcement strategies. While this enhances the DN recovery efficiency, it also expands the scope of potential failures. To address this, reinforcement strategies for interdependent DCTS based on importance measures are proposed. Specifically, these reinforcement strategies take interdependencies into account, defining network performance and importance measures according to coupling relationships. Dynamic updates of importance measures further enable rapid performance recovery. At last, an IEEE 33-based DCTS case is used to validate the effectiveness of reinforcement strategies under various disaster scenarios and uncertainties.
