Comercio intraindustrial Colombia-Estados Unidos. El caso de los bienes altamente tecnológicos

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el comercio intraindustrial entre Colombia y Estados Unidos entre 1995 y 2005, a partir de los datos de BACI (Base pour l´Analyse du Commerce International). En este período, 9%de los productos que se comercializaron con Estados Unidos correspondieron a comercio intraindustrial, y parte de ellos fueron bienes altamente tecnológicos, según la categorización de la OECD. El índice de comercio intraindustrial pasó de 6 en 1995 a 23 en 2005 y utilizando pruebas de multimodalidad se encuentra que el índice G&L presenta más de una moda, lo cual podría ser el resultado de mercados segmentados o múltiples equilibrios, dada la existencia de economías de escala en sectores tecnológicamente sofisticados y del aprendizaje en la práctica.
