Gerechtigkeitsurteile und Vermögensverteilung in Österreich - Wahrnehmung der Realität und Realität der Wahrnehmung von Ungleichheit

Abstract

Der Artikel präsentiert die Ergebnisse einer repräsentativen Befragung von ÖsterreicherInnen in Hinblick auf Gerechtigkeitsvorstellungen und Fragen zu Reichtumserwerb und - legitimation. Vor dem Hintergrund der Rolle von Gerechtigkeitsdiskursen wird analysiert, welche Faktoren für die Wahrnehmung und Beurteilung von Reichtum ausschlaggebend sind. Dabei zeigt sich, dass die Wahrnehmungen und Einschätzungen breit streuen und nicht nur die eigene Stellung in der Einkommens- und Vermögenshierarchie widerspiegeln. Im Vergleich zwischen den ärmsten und reichsten 5% zeigen sich größere Differenzen in den Urteilen. Weitere Unterschiede in den Einschätzungen finden sich hinsichtlich Bildung, Alter und regionaler Herkunft der Befragten. Kritische Einstellungen zu Reichtum und der Verwirklichung von Chancengleichheit sind weit verbreitet. Möglicherweise bleiben sie aber abstrakt und folgenlos, weil die ÖsterreicherInnen glauben, in einer viel gleicheren Gesellschaft zu leben, als dies tatsächlich der Fall ist.
