Kurz zum Klima: Sichere und umweltfreundliche Stromversorgung - ein Zielkonflikt?

Die Sicherheit der Stromversorgung ist ein zentrales energiepolitisches Ziel der Europäischen Union. Ein weiterer elementarer Baustein der europäischen Energiepolitik ist die Umweltverträglichkeit der Energieversorgung. Die 20-20-20-Klimaziele legen u.a. fest, dass der Anteil der erneuerbaren Energien an der Stromproduktion auf 20% erhöht werden soll. Ein zentrales Problem der erneuerbaren Energien ist jedoch deren unsichere Verfügbarkeit. Daraus lässt sich ein Zielkonflikt zwischen zunehmend nachhaltiger Stromerzeugung und dem Niveau der Versorgungssicherheit ableiten. Der vorliegende Artikel befasst sich mit dem Zusammenspiel zwischen ökologischen und sicherheitstechnischen Aspekten der Stromversorgung in Europa.
