Zuwanderung und Kriminalität in Deutschland

Abstract

Gerade in den letzten Jahren ist Zuwanderung immer wieder kontrovers diskutiert worden. Of spielen dabei Befürchtungen eine Rolle, dass mehr Zuwanderer zu mehr Kriminalität führen. Um zu einer Versachlichung der teils sehr emotionalen Behandlung des Themas in den Offline-­ und Online­-Medien beizutragen, reicht es nicht, sich alleine den Zusammenhang zwischen der Anzahl der Zuwanderer und der Anzahl der Strafaten anzusehen. Vielmehr ist es wichtig zu untersuchen, ob eine Ursache-Wirkung-­Beziehung zu fnden ist. Eine Studie auf Kreisebene gibt einen Hinweis, dass Zuwanderer einen ursächlichen Effekt lediglich bei Rauschgifdelikten haben, insb. in Ostdeutschland. Für die Gesamtzahl der zur Anzeige gebrachten Strafaten, wie auch für die anderen einzeln betrachteten Strafaten, lässt sich dagegen kein ursächlicher Effekt fnden.
