Abstract

The paper elaborates on the characteristic of a new definition of small and medium-sized enterprises. In May 2003 European Commission launched a new recommendation on the new definition of small and medium-sized enterprises, which will come into effect on January 1, 2005. One of the main intentions of its implementation on the internal market of the EU is to increase the amount of entrepreneurs who participate in benefits from the EU public aid for SMEs.
