Abstract

Reviews the levels, the trends, and the factors pertaining to adolescent pregnancy and childbirth in sub- Saharan Africa. Highlights differences between this region and other regions, as well as inter- regional differences. Discusses the socio-economic consequences of adolescent pregnancies on ILO's sector programmes. Makes recommendations for ILO interventions. Includes statistical tables with results of field research. Bibliography.
