Política Comercial y Política de Infraestructura en el MERCOSUR

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se utiliza un modelo de Nueva Geografía Económica (NGE) para simular los efectos sobre la localización industrial en Uruguay de la aplicación de distintas alternativas de política comercial y políticas de infraestructura. Los ejercicios dan como resultado que una reducción de las barreras no arancelarias con Argentina produce una deslocalización de industrias en Uruguay, mientras que la aplicación de la misma política con Brasil aumenta la localización de industrias en el país. Las políticas de infraestructura, independientemente del país con el que se realicen, aumentan la localización de industrias en Uruguay.
