Abstract

who remain on site while others telework is non-existent. By mobilizing Hobfoll's (Hobfoll, 1989) resource conservation theory (RCT), and more specifically the concept of resource caravans (Hobfoll, 2014), we explore the resources mobilized by these ‘telework survivors' during the health crisis. The aim of this article is to understand how resources are articulated. Based on a quantitative survey conducted during the winter of 2020/2021 (N=2032), our results highlight important differences in health between our two categories of workers. Indeed, not only do survivors experience more exhaustion than teleworkers, but this exhaustion is of a different nature. This shows that survivors and teleworkers relied on very different caravans of resources to cope with the constraints of their work situations.
