Sozialkriterien im Nachhaltigkeitsrating

Abstract

Wann ist ein Unternehmen sozial? So könnte vereinfacht die Fragestellung dieser Studie beschrieben werden. Vor dem Hintergrund eines auch in Deutschland stetig wachsenden Markts für so genannte nachhaltige Geldanlage (auch sozial-ökologisches oder ethisches Investment), wird der Frage nachgegangen, welchen sozialen Kriterien - Arbeitsbedingungen, Arbeitsbeziehungen, Beziehungen zu Anrainern, Zulieferern und Kunden - ein Unternehmen genügen muss, um in einen der verschiedenen Nachhaltigkeitsfonds aufgenommen zu werden.Die Bewertung der sozialen Performance von Unternehmen für Kapitalmarktzwecke wird von Rating-Agenturen oder bankinternen Teams vorgenommen. Diese arbeiten mit spezifischen Vorstellungen, welche Elemente eine soziale Unternehmenspolitik ausmachen. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass trotz vieler grundsätzlicher Gemeinsamkeiten erhebliche Unterschiede im Einzelnen existieren.Die Studie untersucht detailliert,· welcher Nachhaltigkeits-Philosophie die einzelnen Rating-Agenturen folgen,· welche Kriterien für die Bewertung der sozialen Performance angewendet werden und· nach welchen Bewertungs- und Beurteilungskonzepten das Rating-Urteil gefällt wird.Sie liefert damit aufschlussreiche Informationen sowohl für die Akteure des Nachhaltigkeitsratings selbst als auch für diejenigen gesellschaftspolitischen Kräfte, die sich mit der Entwicklung, Umsetzung und Kontrolle von sozial orientierter Unternehmensführung beschäftigen. Ebenfalls bietet sie Orientierung für private und institutionelle Anleger, die einen nachhaltigen Investmentstil praktizieren oder praktizieren wollen, sowie für Unternehmen, die Gegenstand von Nachhaltigkeitsratings sind.
