Tourismus 2025: Entwicklungsperspektiven und Strategien für den ländlichen Raum

Abstract

Im Rahmen der Studie werden für Österreich erstmals tourismusintensive und tourismusextensive Regionen nach räumlichen Typologien wie ländliche, intermediäre und städtische Gebiete analysiert. Weiters werden Szenarien über die künftige Tourismusentwicklung sowie Strategien zur Stärkung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit entwickelt. Für die Periode bis 2025 ergibt sich in der Basisvariante eine erheblich differenzierte Entwicklung, wenn die seit Mitte der 2000er-Jahre absehbaren signifikanten Trends bzw. die regionalen Wachstumsunterschiede anhalten: Demnach werden die überwiegend in West- und Südösterreich liegenden tourismusintensiven ländlichen, intermediären und städtischen Regionen deutlich Marktanteile verlieren. Wesentlich dynamischer entwickeln sich in Zukunft die extensiven ländlichen, intermediären und städtischen Regionen, da die Betriebe die Nachfrageverlagerung zu "postmodernen" Strukturen besser nutzen können. Zur Verbesserung der Performance werden Strategien zur Steigerung der Produktivität, der Qualität, der Innovationsquote, der Produktdifferenzierung sowie der Fernmarktanteile empfohlen.
