Abstract

This study analyzes agricultural productivity in Odisha, focusing on the production of pulses, food grains, cereals, fibers, and oilseeds across coastal and non-coastal districts. Using key indicators such as average production, coefficient of variation (CV), and compound annual growth rate (CAGR), the study evaluates trends and stability in agricultural yield. Findings reveal that coastal districts have achieved higher growth rates across all crop categories, while non-coastal districts exhibit relatively lower growth rates. Additionally, production stability is greater in coastal regions, whereas non-coastal districts experience higher variability. Given the pivotal role of agriculture in Odisha’s economy, these insights highlight the need for targeted interventions to bridge regional disparities and enhance overall agricultural productivity.
