Geopolitische Spannungen, Energiekrise und Teuerung bestimmen die Konjunktur. Die österreichische Wirtschaft im Jahr 2022

Abstract

Geopolitische Veränderungen und die Energiekrise prägten 2022 die Entwicklung der Weltwirtschaft. Regional verlief die Konjunktur heterogen, wobei die steigende Unsicherheit und Angebotsverknappungen in vielen Ländern hohe Preissteigerungen zur Folge hatten. Österreichs Wirtschaft expandierte im 1. Halbjahr 2022 noch kräftig, im weiteren Jahresverlauf dämpfte jedoch die hohe Teuerung die Konsum- und Investitionsnachfrage. Die Verbraucherpreisinflation stieg im Herbst 2022 auf einen Spitzenwert von 11%, was u. a. zu Reallohnverlusten der unselbständigen Beschäftigten führte. Die österreichische Bundesregierung setzte umfangreiche temporäre und permanente Entlastungsmaßnahmen, um die sozialen und ökonomischen Auswirkungen von Inflation und Energiekrise auf Unternehmen und private Haushalte abzufedern.
