Österreich 2025 – Elemente des landwirtschaftlichen Innovationssystems in Österreich

Abstract

Innovationen sind zentrale Voraussetzungen für Produktivitätsfortschritte. Über Jahrhunderte wurden sie aus der Landwirtschaft selbst erbracht, seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts liegt die Rolle der Landwirtschaft vor allem in der Übernahme von Technologien und ihrer praktischen Umsetzung. Die Einführung leistungsfähigerer Produktionsverfahren bewirkte über Jahrzehnte Einsparungen von Arbeitskräften im Ausmaß von etwa 2% pro Jahr. In den letzten Jahren kommen vermehrt wieder unmittelbar von landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben vorangetriebene Neuerungen zum Einsatz. Veränderte Verbrauchergewohnheiten und eine damit einhergehende hohe Bereitschaft zum Kauf von Premiumprodukten ermöglichen mittlerweile wieder arbeitsintensivere Produktionsverfahren und einen höheren Wertschöpfungsbeitrag dieser Komponente.
