Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Growth and Significance Analysis of Entrepreneurial Education in Assam

Abstract

Entrepreneurial education has always played an important role in developing entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial education can also contribute to the sustainability of business development. In the context of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation,” entrepreneurial education is important to promote the restructuring of the economic and business model, enhance the development momentum, and follow the innovation-driven development path. However, whether the promotion of entrepreneurial education will lead to entrepreneurial intentions of college students, and thus, specific proposals for the promotion of the entrepreneurial education model remain unclear. In this article, the factors influencing entrepreneur development and the importance of entrepreneur education programs are analyzed. Initially, two sets of questionnaire data are collected from the graduate and undergraduate management college students in Assam. The 4-point response scale was used for all responses to the questions. This study shows the influence of economic, physiological, and environmental factors on the entrepreneurship development of Assam. Thus, the key objective of the study is to analyze the family, educational, and financial barriers faced by entrepreneurs, and it also identifies the importance of entrepreneur education programs from the statistical results. Comparing various motivational hurdles, success factor rates, and future career aspirations before and after completing an entrepreneurship class revealed considerable heterogeneity. Despite these challenges, motivating students might be a method to get around them and into the industry on the path of change and progress. It is recommended that entrepreneurial education should be included at all educational levels which develop entrepreneurial intention and can contribute to the socioeconomic development of entrepreneurs as well as the country. Consequently, the findings suggest that entrepreneur education supports students to develop entrepreneurial attitudes and improve matching their skill expectations with their skill achievement, respectively.
