La logique du déploiement des activités économiques dans l’espace urbain de Montréal

Abstract

This study uses data from a census of establishments and jobs to show that Montreal follows quite closely the location patterns predicted by microeconomic theory concerning the spatial concentration of each activity and its spatial association with all activities taken together, and with each of the other activities individually. Cette étude montre, à l’aide des données du Recensement des établissements et de l’emploi à Montréal, que cette ville se conforme d’assez près aux schèmes de localisation que prédit la théorie microéconomique quant à la concentration spatiale de chaque activité et quant à son association spatiale avec l’ensemble des activités, de même qu’avec chacune des autres activités individuellement.
