Betriebliche Mitbestimmung und gewerkschaftliche Loyalitaetssicherung. Eine empirische Analyse des Einflusses des Betriebsrats und anderer Faktoren auf die Mitgliederbindung der IG Metall

Abstract

UEber die Bedeutung des Betriebsrates fuer die Mitgliederrekrutierung der deutschen Gewerkschaften herrscht Einigkeit. Sein Einfluss auf die Loyalitaetssicherung der bereits rekrutierten Mitglieder ist indessen nicht eindeutig. Die vorliegende Analyse schliesst diese Luecke. Empirische Grundlage sind Daten einer repraesentativen Befragung von 1230 Mitgliedern der IG Metall. Zuerst wird die Bedeutung der Mitgliedschaftsloyalitaet unter Beruecksichtigung der „Logik des kollektiven Handelns“ diskutiert. Da Olsons Theorie die Mitgliederentwicklung unzureichend erklaert, wird ein Loyalitaetsmodell vorgeschlagen, welches neben zweckrationalen soziale und wertrationale Mitgliedschaftsmotive beruecksichtigt. Im empirischen Teil werden zunaechst die Beziehungen zwischen den eingefuehrten Loyalitaetsdimensionen und der individuellen Abwanderungsneigung untersucht, bevor die Determinanten der Mitgliedschaftsloyalitaet ermittelt werden. Besondere Beruecksichtigung erfaehrt dabei der Einfluss des Betriebsrates.
