Abstract

[fre] un reexamen du modele de gains de Mincer . . A partir de mesures extrêmement trustes de l'éducation formelle et de la formation en entreprise, le modèle de gains proposé par J. Mineer (1974) explique une part non négligeable de la dispersion des revenus observée sur données individuelles. Le pouvoir explicatif du modèle peut être sensiblement amélioré au prix d'un effort de mesure de ses principales variables. En dépit clé la robustesse du modèle, l'interprétation des résultats est délicate. Ces derniers sont en effet compatibles avec d'autres constructions théoriques et notamment avec celle couramment désignée sous le nom de théorie du filtre. On montre ici qu'une spécification du modèle directement dérivée de cette dernière théorie prouve sa pertinence empirique dans l'explication de la distribution des revenus et rend compte de l'intensification dans le temps du rôle de l'expérience sur le niveau des gains. [eng] A re-appraisal of mincer's earnings model. . Starting from rough measures of formal schooling and on the job training, the earning model proposed by J. Mincer (1974) suceed to explain a substantial proportion of the variance of individual earning. The explanatory power of the model can be significantly boosted by increasing the quality of the variables. In spite of the robustness of the model, the interpretation of the results is to be taken cautiously. These results can be derived from alternative theoretical hypothesis and namely to the one known as the filter hypothesis. It is shown that a specification of the earnings function consistent with the filter hypothesis is proced to be empirically supported in the explanation of the variance of the earnings. Furthermore, this specification helps to understand the changes with time in the impact of lob experience on earnings.
