Abstract

A tanulmány a nemrég elhunyt Lányi Kamilla pályaképét rajzolja meg. Lányi egyike volt azoknak a nagy műveltségű, eredeti gondolkodású és beskatulyázhatatlan magyar közgazdászoknak az elmúlt fél évszázadban, aki ugyan rengeteg művet hagyott az utókorra, és mély hatást gyakorolt fiatalabb munkatársainak elméleti-gazdaságpolitikai választásaira, ám sem tudományos címet, sem katedrát, sem kitüntetést nem kapott a szakma és a politika mindenkori hatalmasságaitól. Ösztönös, szuverén tudósként mozgott a modern közgazdaságtan, valamint a hagyományos szociológia és társadalomtörténet határmezsgyéjén, és eltökélt demokrataként feszegette a liberális gazdasági gondolat kereteit. Lányi munkásságát a szerző úgy tárja az olvasó elé, hogy a tudós közgazdász pályája mind többet villantson fel egy olyan korból, mely a szinte még gyermek szociográfustanoncból vad sztálinistát, majd 56-os rebellist farag, aki ezt követő hosszabb piaci szocialista és szociálispiacgazdaság-párti korszakát soha meg nem tagadva búcsúzik az élettől, igaz, az ezredvégi kapitalizmustól borzongva, mély kétségek közepette.
