Indice d'inclusion financière à l'heure du mobile money

Abstract

Depuis quelques années le mobile money a pris une énorme place dans les habitudes financières des populations surtout les populations des pays en développement. Dans ce contexte, l’indice d’inclusion financière, qui informe sur le niveau d’inclusion financière des différentes régions du monde, se doit d’incorporer aussi cet aspect. L’objectif de cette étude est d’introduire le mobile money dans le calcul de l’indice d’inclusion financière. En appliquant le calcul de cet indice multidimensionnel de l’inclusion financière compris entre 0 et 1 sur quelques pays d’Afrique, il ressort bien que le mobile money a un effet significatif sur l’indice d’inclusion financière. Toutefois, le manque de données sur certains des indicateurs de l’inclusion financière est une limite dans le calcul de cet indice.
