Umfang und Struktur der Nebenerwerbstätigkeit in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland

Abstract

"Das Phänomen der Nebenerwerbstätigkeit verdient vor allem aus 2 Gründen Interesse: als Ausdruck der Flexibilität des Arbeitsmarktes und als Komponente der Schattenwirtschaft. Dennoch ist über Art, Ausmaß und Verteilung der Nebenerwerbstätigkeit wenig bekannt. Der vorliegende Beitrag enthält die Ergebnisse einer repräsentativen Erhebung bei 8000 Befragten. Zu den wichtigen Ergebnissen zählen: - Nahezu 10 % der Bevölkerung haben 1984 in den letzten 3 Monaten neben ihrer Haupttätigkeit Einkommen aus Nebenerwerbstätigkeiten erzielt. Das ermittelte Niveau der Nebenerwerbstätigkeit ist damit deutlich höher als das, welches andere Erhebungen ausweisen (Mikrozensus ca. 1,8%). - Teilzeiterwerbstätige und in Ausbildung Befindliche sind stark überdurchschnittlich, Rentner und Hausfrauen stark unterdurchschnittlich oft nebenerwerbstätig; zwischen Männern und Frauen sind die Unterschiede im Umfang der Nebenerwerbstätigkeit gering. - Je niedriger das Pro-Kopf-Einkommen im Haushalt, desto mehr Nebenerwerbstätigkeit wird geleistet. - Im Gegensatz zu dem relativ häufigen Vorkommen ist der Zeitaufwand für Nebenwerwerbstätigkeit (ca. 3% der Erwerbsstunden insgesamt) und das erzielte Nebeneinkommen (250 DM im Monatsdurchschnitt) niedrig. - Sowohl der Mikrozensus wie die Beschäftigungsstatistik zeigen, daß Nebenerwerbstätigkeit im letzten Jahrzehnt nicht zunahm."
