Abstract

The reduction of long-term unemployment and dependency continues to constitute a central task of labour market policy. Various IAB studies show that the existing instruments of active labour market policy are also in principle suitable for assisting people who have not been in employment subject to social security contributions for several years to find their way back into the labour market.
