L?evoluzione del ruolo degli uffici di trasferimento tecnologico delle universit? italiane e l?impatto sul territorio: il caso del Politecnico di Milano

Abstract

Negli ultimi anni, nell?ambito degli studi sui processi di innovazione delle imprese, si ? affermato un filone di analisi che si collega ad un modello di ?innovazione aperta? nell?ambito del quale assumono un ruolo chiave le risorse di conoscenza che provengono dalle universit?. In relazione a ci?, sta evolvendo anche il ruolo degli uffici per il trasferimento tecnologico delle universit?. Queste strutture di servizio, mettendo in connessione le conoscenze accademiche con quelle tecnologiche delle imprese, specie tramite il supporto ai processi di brevettazione e licencing degli atenei, possono favorire il trasferimento dei risultati della ricerca al sistema industriale. Obiettivo del lavoro ? esaminare come sta evolvendo il ruolo degli uffici per il trasferimento tecnologico delle universit? italiane e come le attivit? da essi svolte possono impattare, a livello locale, sullo sviluppo economico e industriale. Dal punto di vista metodologico, ai fini dell?analisi ? utilizzato il metodo dei casi. L?ufficio di trasferimento tecnologico oggetto di studio ? quello del Politecnico di Milano, riconosciuto come caso benchmark a livello italiano. L?analisi casistica mostra che le finalit? dell?ufficio di trasferimento tecnologico del Politecnico di Milano si sono nel tempo modificate e ampliate e che le attivit? da esso svolte, favorendo il processo di valorizzazione delle conoscenze accademiche, in maniera coerente e complementare con gli altri canali di comunicazione universit?-impresa, possono contribuire allo sviluppo del sistema economico locale.
