Level of intelligent manufacturing, institutional shareholding, and adjustment of human capital structure

Abstract

This research focused on data from Chinese publicly listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen between 2011 and 2023., aiming to explore the impact of intelligent manufacturing levels and institutional shareholding on the adjustment of corporate human capital structure. The research findings indicate that the level of intelligent manufacturing has a significant positive effect on the adjustment of human capital structure. Meanwhile, the proportion of institutional shareholding has a negative influence on human capital structure adjustment, as a high proportion of institutional shareholdings may inhibit a company's flexibility and innovation investment in human capital structure. Additionally, the level of intelligent manufacturing has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between institutional shareholding and the adjustment of human capital structure, particularly in the eastern region, where improvements in intelligent manufacturing can enhance the influence of institutional shareholding on human capital structure adjustment to a certain extent. Based on the research results, this paper proposes countermeasures such as strengthening the application of intelligent manufacturing, optimizing the structure of institutional shareholding, and formulating regionally differentiated policies to promote the optimization and adjustment of corporate human capital.
