Abstract

Using supply chain data from Chinese A-share listed firms (2011–2022), this study investigates the impact of supply chain finance (SCF) on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) coordination. The findings indicate that: 1. SCF significantly improves ESG coordination; 2. Supply chain synergy mediates the relationship between supply chain finance and ESG coordination; 3. The effect is more pronounced for heavily polluting firms, firms with stable supply chains, and highly competitive industries. These results provide evidence of SCF’s role in promoting sustainable development and fostering effective ESG coordination within supply chains.
