Abstract

Against the backdrop of the global digital economy and industrial upgrading, the logistics industry has emerged as a pivotal arena for financial innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Based on data from listed logistics companies in China from 2000 to 2023, this study investigates the impact of financial innovation and AI-driven initiatives in the logistics sector on corporate financing costs. The results indicate that financial innovation and AI-driven advancements in the logistics industry significantly reduce corporate financing costs. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the impact of financial innovation and AI-driven initiatives on financing costs is more pronounced among small and medium-sized enterprises. Further moderation effect tests demonstrate that AI-driven factors play a moderating role in the relationship between financial innovation in the logistics industry and corporate financing costs. The findings of this study provide policy and practical references for optimizing the financing environment and reducing corporate costs.
