Abstract

Using panel data from 31 Chinese provinces spanning 2007 to 2023, this research examines the nonlinear influence of data factor mobility on the coordinated advancement of regional economies. It also investigates how digital infrastructure moderates this relationship. The findings indicate that data factor flow substantially contributes to the synchronized development of regional economies. Moreover, the effect of data flow on economic coordination demonstrates a nonlinear pattern. Digital infrastructure emerges as a significant moderating factor, enhancing the positive impact of data flow on regional integration. Furthermore, there is notable regional heterogeneity, with the moderating role of digital infrastructure varying according to different levels of urbanization.
