Trusted adult and providing changes for youth living with drug users’ parents: a qualitative study

Abstract

Adolescents dealing with parental drug use encounter numerous challenges and have limited access to supportive relationships. They are exposed to various adverse life experiences that hinder their healthy development. These young individuals require additional help and support to navigate these challenges. For many, a trusted adult becomes a crucial figure who can help bridge the gaps created by parental drug use and guide them toward a positive and healthy life path.
