15 Jahre EU-Osterweiterung: Ostdeutsche Bundesländer profitieren am meisten von neuen Handelspartnerschaften

Abstract

Die Integration der Staaten Mittel- und Osteuropas in die Europäische Union hat sich positiv auf deren Handels beziehungen zu Deutschland ausgewirkt. Wir zeigen, dass der Außenhandel der neuen Mitgliedsstaaten mit Deutschland nach dem EU-Beitritt statistisch signifikant zugenommen hat. Insbesondere die neuen Bundesländer konnten hiervon profitieren und ihre Exporte nach Osteuropa in den letzten Jahren deutlich ausbauen. Nichts destotrotz bleiben erhebliche Unterschiede bei der Verteilung der Exportumsätze der Bundesländer bestehen.
