Dinâmicas Recentes nas Sub-Regiões Portuguesas: Uma Aplicação do Método SHIFT-SHARE

Abstract

Esta investigação, orientada para o crescimento das regiões portuguesas ao nível das NUT III, segue a metodologia de análise shift-share, que quantifica as taxas de crescimento e as desagrega nas três componentes, isto é a nacional, a estrutural e a regional. O período de observação (1995 a 2010) foi subdividido em dois, ou seja, 1995-1999 e 2000-2010, dado que atravessa o período final do século XX e o princípio do século XXI. As taxas de crescimento do VAB, enquanto medida de crescimento económico, evidenciando comportamentos diversificados a par de alguma estabilidade nos dois subperíodos, mostram que, apesar dos avanços significativos em termos de infraestruturação e melhoria das condições de vida das populações, as políticas públicas e o investimento privado contribuíram para a manutenção da tendência de agravamento das assimetrias regionais.
