Aportación de la universidad y de la experiencia laboral al desarrollo de competencias en la juventud egresada

Abstract

En los últimos años se ha desarrollado una intensa labor investigadora en torno a la formación basada en competencias. El reciente interés en este campo de estudio se debe no sólo a la necesidad de adaptación de las universidades al nuevo Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior, sino también al compromiso de las instituciones de educación superior por mejorar la calidad de la enseñanza universitaria y facilitar la integración de los futuros egresados en el mercado laboral. El presente estudio pretende ofrecer una panorámica desde un triple punto de vista (graduados, profesorado y empresas) del grado de ajuste entre el perfil competencial que efectivamente poseen los jóvenes graduados y el requerido en el puesto de trabajo. En primer lugar se caracterizará el perfil competencial de los jóvenes graduados desde una triple perspectiva: su propia visón, la del profesorado y la de los empleadores; en segundo lugar se determinarán, también desde esa triple perspectiva, cuales son las competencias profesionales efectivamente requeridas en el puesto de trabajo. De la comparación de ambas y con información referente a la contribución de la educación superior y de la experiencia laboral en el desarrollo competencial puede valorarse la idoneidad de la educación superior a la hora de preparar a los futuros profesionales en el futuro desempeño de sus tareas profesionales así como las posibles vías de mejora.
