Finanzspekulation mit Agrarrohstoffen: Analyse und Bewertung aus wirtschaftsethischer Sicht

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag nimmt aus wirtschaftsethischer Sicht Stellung zur gesellschaftlichen Debatte über die Finanzspekulation mit Agrarrohstoffen. Im ersten Abschnitt werden die realwirtschaftlichen Ursachen der starken Preissteigerungen erläutert, die in den letzten Jahren zu verzeichnen waren. Im zweiten Abschnitt wird erklärt, warum es ungerecht(fertigt) ist, passive Indexfonds als „Hungermacher“ an den Pranger zu stellen. Der dritte Abschnitt weist darauf hin, dass der aktuelle Moraldiskurs über Spekulation einige merkwürdige Besonderheiten aufweist, wenn man ihn im historischen Kontext betrachtet. Der vierte Abschnitt analysiert, inwiefern sich zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen konstruktiv an der Bekämpfung des globalen Hungers beteiligen können, ohne irreführende Kampagnen zu betreiben, die gemessen an ihren eigenen moralischen Zielen kontraproduktiv sind.
