Mittelfristprojektion für Deutschland im Frühjahr 2017 - Gesamtwirtschaftliche Überauslastung nimmt zu

Abstract

Das Produktionspotenzial in Deutschland wird zwischen den Jahren 2017 bis 2021 im Durchschnitt voraussichtlich um 1,4 Prozent wachsen. Damit würde das Potenzialwachstum geringfügig über den in den Jahren zuvor erzielten Raten liegen. Einem stärkeren Wachstum steht der demografische Wandel entgegen, der sich mehr und mehr bemerkbar macht. Da sich ältere Bevölkerungsgruppen deutlich weniger stark am Arbeitsmarkt engagieren, führt die Alterung der Bevölkerung dazu, dass dem Arbeitsmarkt weniger Erwerbspersonen zur Verfügung stehen und in der Folge das Produktionspotenzial geringer ausfällt. Dies ist ein Grund dafür, warum das Produktionspotenzial mit der lebhaften Expansion des Bruttoinlandsprodukts nicht Schritt halten kann, für das wir im Durchschnitt mit einem jährlichen Zuwachs von 1,7 Prozent zwischen den Jahren 2017 bis 2021 rechnen. Bereits im laufenden Jahr dürfte die Kapazitätsauslastung merklich über ihrem normalen Niveau liegen; dafür spricht neben der Schätzung der Produktionslücke auch eine Reihe von weiteren Indikatoren. Vor diesem Hintergrund droht Deutschland in den kommenden Jahren eine Überhitzung.
