Abstract

Crowdfunding ist ein mächtiges Instrument um online Geld zu sammeln. Besonders in prosozialen Kontexten kann Crowdfunding als relevante Alternative zu Fundraising-Aktivitäten von Non-Profit-Organisationen und Stiftungen gesehen werden. Der öffentliche Zugang und die unkomplizierte Handhabung, sollten es der breiten Masse ermöglichen, die Technologie als individuelles Fundraising-Instrument einzusetzen. In dieser Analyse wird untersucht, inwiefern reward-based Crowdfunding für prosoziale Fundraising-Aktivitäten eingesetzt werden kann. Hierzu wird die Schweizer Crowdfunding-Kampagne «Neustartdario» auf verschiedene Faktoren und deren Einfluss auf den Kampagnenverlauf untersucht. Dementsprechend werden drei übergeordnete Untersuchungsfragen definiert: (1) Welche Rolle spielte das persönliche Netzwerk der Initiatorin? (2) Welche Rolle spielten die eingebrachten Ressourcen der Initiatorin, des Betroffenen und deren Umfeld? (3) Welche Rolle spielte die Berichterstattung in den Medien? Die Analyse resultiert in einer Abschätzung, inwiefern reward-based Crowdfunding von der allgemeinen Bevölkerung als prosoziales Fundraising-Instrument eingesetzt werden kann sowie in anwendbaren Empfehlungen für zukünftige Initianten von prosozialen reward-based Crowdfunding-Kampagnen.
