Probleme der Inflationsmessung in Deutschland

Abstract

In dieser Studie wird die Genauigkeit der Inflationsmessung in Deutschland am Beispiel des Preisindex für die Lebenshaltung theoretisch und empirisch untersucht. In vergleichbaren Untersuchungen, wie sie bisher insbesondere für die USA angestellt wurden, sind vier wichtige ,,Fehler-" quellen isoliert worden: "Fehler" wegen der Verwendung einer "falschen" Indexformel ("Product Substitution Bias"), "Fehler" bei der Qualitätsbereinigung von Preisänderungen ("Quality Change Bias"), ,,Fehler" wegen der verspäteten Berücksichtigung neuer Produkte ("New Product Bias"), und "Fehler" wegen der unzureichenden Berücksichtigung von Strukturänderungen im Handel ("Outlet Substitution Bias") ...
