Il benchmarking di un terminal container: il posizionamento competitivo dei terminalisti in Liguria

Abstract

Le analisi di questo paper mirano a delineare un quadro conoscitivo sullo stato dell’offerta dei terminal container nell’ambito competitivo europeo. In particolare, tale studio si prefigge di identificare i punti di forza e debolezza dei porti liguri rispetto ai principali competitor. A questo proposito occorre precisare che non esiste in letteratura un indicatore sintetico in grado di esprimere la dotazione delle risorse distintive di una catena del valore portuale. Soltanto recentemente ne è stato proposto uno per definire l’efficienza di un terminal container A fronte di tali considerazioni e delle fonti di informazioni disponibili (precarie quanto a significatività e a confrontabilità nello spazio), l’analisi della situazione dell’offerta dei maggiori terminal container europei è stata condotta secondo i seguenti criteri metodologici: delimitazione dell’ambito competitivo, ovvero individuazione degli scali europei, attuali e potenziali, in concorrenza con il sistema dei porti liguri; analisi e valutazione della capacità offerta mediante la costruzione di appositi indicatori di dotazione strutturale e di performance.
