Reexamining Frontier Markets

Abstract

By viewing actor networks and commodity chains as parts of a broader market rhizome, the case studies illuminate the mechanisms that produce change in frontier markets. This lens also made visible the tendency for specific commodity networks to rupture, which could produce innovation but also inflict pressures on local producers.
