Les trajectoires des entrepreneurs néo-ruraux

Abstract

Whereas public authorities show a growing interest in receiving urban people wishing to set up a business in rural areas, literature underlines the specificity of in-migrant entrepreneurs but remains limited about the trajectories of these entrepreneurs. A study conducted in the French territory of "Monts et Montagne d'Ardèche" allows us to complete this literature and to show the diversity of in-migrant entrepreneurs in rural areas. Every in-migrant entrepreneur follows a specific path depending on the importance that the entrepreneurial manner has, depending on the individual-mix of motivations and personal goals and also depending on the role played by local environment during the different phases of its project: planning and execution. We show that in-migrant entrepreneurs should be supported in a specific way and, at the same time, also that this support has to be adapted to each individual profile.
